Description
Continuing my latest bug-writing spree, I introduce a long-hated annoyance of mine in ArmA 2. Many of the human models in ArmA 2 have holes in the pilot LOD where the neck extends into the body, which can be seen out of the corner of the eye when looking around over the left shoulder. The hole is especially pronounced when running or crawling (as this brings the shoulder closer to the eye).
This problem stems from a failure of the modeller to close over the model's neck hole in the pilot LOD of their P3D, and basically looks amateurish, since you can see through your own body to the ground behind you. Examples:
http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e265/CameronMcDonald/Neckhole.jpg - a USMC soldier's neck hole.
http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e265/CameronMcDonald/Neckholesniperspotter.jpg - a sniper's neck hole.
http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e265/CameronMcDonald/NeckholeRussianmedic.jpg - Russian medic's neck hole (note, you are actually seeing his backpack through the hole).
http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e265/CameronMcDonald/Neckholecivvypriest.jpg - a civilian priest's neck hole.
I went through every human model in ArmA 2, and found that the following units have this anomaly:
Men (USMC) - all (except the officer, corpsman, rifleman and soldier (unarmed) models).
Men (Force Recon) - all (except the commander, Cooper, corpsman, FAC operator, FR (unarmed), grenadier, marksman, Miles,
Sykes and team leader models).
Men (US Navy) - all.
CDF soldiers - sniper, spotter.
Russian motostreloks - all (except the general model). Note that this includes units wearing backpacks - you can see through their neck holes into the rear of the packs they wear.
ChDkZ - all (except the boss, commander, insurgent, medic, officer and pilot models).
Male civilians - priest.
Female civilians - see http://dev-heaven.net/issues/11405
I'd like to see this sorted out so I can stop doublethinking every time I look over my shoulder.

Note also that the Russian MVD and Spetznatz models do not suffer from this problem (i.e. no neck holes in their Pilot LODs).
