The roots of this problem are in #2551 in my opinion.
This issue is a side effect of squad inability to catch with leader's movement.
Still a problem in 1.04beta build 59025.

Might be improved in 60129, but without a repro I cannot verify. Please, add repro or otherwise verify the fix.

  1. [60129] Fixed: AI subordinates now move faster (use less cover) to catch up when leader is way ahead of them.
  2. [60102] Fixed: AI subordinates should now respect formation more when moving in combat.
  3. [60101] Fixed: Group leader was often running far ahead alone in combat.
  4. [60092] Fixed: AI leader did not wait for a player to cover him when moving in combat.

Tendency to stay together should be stronger in 60220

Updated by fabrizioT 10 months ago

Great news, behaviour was already quite better in 60141, looking forward to 60220.
Thx Suma.
