Reduced model complexity¶
Currently both project are in a feedback state. Especially the very low version
is not really meant to be played - instead to measure FPS and observe LOD switching.
Report bad models
If you find a model with too low resolution LOD, like ugly looking on close distance
or missing parts of the object like walls, make a simple mission placing a soldier
unit in the editor look directly at the said object and attach the mission here:

Q: Can you release the tool to tweak the models ourselves?
A: T_D has thankfully released the tools.
Q: Possible to drop all but the first resolution LOD?
A: The new version of ResLodRemover can do that. Try it from the link above.
Q: How to generate list for all textures or model files?
A: You can find the list as part of the CMB:
- MipMapRemover
- VegetationPatcher (successor of ResLodRemover, adapt as needed)
- Generate a list of all p3d or textures:
1 dir /S /B *.paa > paaList.txt - Adapt the content to:
1 T:\ResLodRemover\ResLodRemover.exe "C:\1\plants2_bush\b_betulaHumilis.p3d" "C:\1\plants2_bush\b_betulaHumilis.p3d" 2 >> p3d.log
Object drawing distance tweak¶
Preface
ArmA supports up to 50.000m (50km) viewdistance.
Yet objects, means vegetation and objects of a world, as well as units or mission
placed objects are drawn in general way less (~45% and max ~2000-2500m...).
This also results in objects popping into view. Especially with low viewdistance.
Features
- Objects no longer pop into view. Instead they appear seamless from the fog line.
- Vehicles are drawn up to 3 km instead of 2.2 km.
- Structures are drawn even in huge distances.
- Little to none FPS impact.
- Works for world structures and vehicles.
- Works only for editor placed vegetation or roads.
