• **Convert existing modfolders into six-updater usable repositories (See FAQ for info)

• The latest Six Updater Suite ships without default database, it will instead be auto created, default schema and system data loaded, and migrated (kept up2date) whenever needed.
• Initialization improved, removed some message duplication and space wasting.

As of today the Six Updater Suite supports 3rd Party Networks (refs #10140).
This means that aside from the six updater network (atm 9 mirrors), it will be possible to update mods from other networks.
Mirrors can then provide a sub-set of mods that the official six updater network provides, or even completely different mods or even versions altough not recommended.

In the near future, I hope to open up some of the API's of the Updater Portal Site
so that network / mod owners can interact, add, update or remove their mirrors and mods.

Overview¶

Linux support is finally here!
The full suite (Rsync, Updater, Updater Web GUI) is fully usable.
For the hardcore people, six-rsync will provide the basic features required to sync up mod folders with the network.
For the less hardcore, but console orientated people, six-updater will provide all features required to manage and launch arma(server)(s) with Mods.
six-updater-web provides the full set of features Six Updater Suite provides, and can be used to remotely manage your server(s) securely.

(All of this is of course also available on Windows, as always)

Windows UAC support has been improved!
As opposed to expecting the app to be started with admin rights, through manifest file, or user right-click run-as-administrator,
the app now self checks, warns, and restarts elevated, the updater applications when the software is running non-elevated. (not as administrator).

Exception handling improved!
If arma has been detected running while executing updater operations, the user is warned.
If any of the deployed tools report errors, they are now made aware to the user, and properly handled. (Files that cannot be overwritten for example)

All new features are available in the new setup available in the files section (v0.10+)
New UAC features are unavailable if you only update through the built-in auto update (RubyGems).

• Gamespy master server list browsing (Direct access to 100's of servers!)
  • Full search- and filter-ability
  • Find mods by server, or servers by mod!
  • Read the current list of servers directly from gamespy
    • Including Ping and Country (where possible)
    • Auto synchronizes when you access the Main page and sync was longer than 30 minutes ago
    • You can sync manually on the Main page, Synchronization section, and click update_gamespy. A new window should open, please wait until done, and click Main again. You can now access the list.
  • Join servers directly from the updater, incl. the server required mods (Don't forget to pick an Action with "Join Server" included, or it won't do much)
    • Only mods that are available on the updater network, or are otherwise already installed
    • You can access the gamespy servers directly from the Mainpage, "server" field. Or otherwise click "Browser (# servers)"
    • You can save passwords, automatically used when connecting to the servers
    • You can set servers to favorites, and later filter on favorites to easily join and access the server
  • Hit "Refresh" at a server to actualize its information, even including Players, their names, teams, kills and deaths!
  • Hit "Show" at a server to see all available details. If you hit refresh and it was sucessful, players are also shown.
• All selection and editing actions on relationships like Presets, Servers, Mods, Settings Profiles, Actions, etc. are now ajax fields with 10-per page selection, and search
• All lists are sorted by record names by default
• Fixed encoding issues
• Improved performance of Main page
• Many minor improvements

Further improvements and tweaking planned for soon!

Gamespy functionality requires uninstalling previous versions and installing the latest setup

Please grab the latest version in the Files Section
Make sure Six-Updater\tools\gslist.exe is allowed in firewall (will fetch gamespy server list and information)

Upgrading¶

1. Please click "Configuration", select "System data" and click "Reset".
   This will restore all system tables, incl permissions and roles.
